Job Description:  Operations Director Renewable Energy Installation, NORTH EAST ENGLAND

SUMMARY:  Reports to Chief Executive Officer

Responsible for overseeing and implementing project management delivery for the installation of a variety of energy renewable projects.  Delivery of installation programme in line with the company goals and objectives.  Ensuring that milestones and deliverables are met throughout the life of all projects.  Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously at various stages of development which may be located locally, regionally or nationally.

In addition to overseeing the planning, development and implementation of the company’s installation programme the main duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

RESPONSIBILITIES
Developing and implementing an installation programme according to the company goals and objectives.
Coordination of installation schedules and the management of staffing (both business and sub-contractors) to ensure that all installations are completed on time and on budget.
Accountability for the success of the installations programme and applicable business goals and objectives.
Preparation of bids and the procurement of materials and services as required.
Creation of project budgets based upon quotes and bids together with the positive tracking of project costs.
Build relationships with and provide the point of contact for clients during each project.
Provide progress reports and updates to clients as required.
Monthly reporting to the CEO and Board of Directors.
Training and development of departmental staff.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks.
Attendance at senior management meetings.
To represent the business in an exemplary fashion.
To ensure on all occasions, you observe safe work practices in order to satisfy Health & Safety at Work, Fire Procedures and other statutory Legislation.
To provide a troubleshooting response as required on issues relating to installations.
To adhere to and promote the company Mission Statement and Core Values.
Extensive travel is required.

 

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS    
Qualifications:  
Degree qualified in a relevant discipline Essential
Prince 2 Project Management Desirable
Full driving licence Essential
Experience:  
Minimum of 2 years solar project management experience including projects of at least 100kW Essential
Minimum of 5 years project management and/or construction operations experience Essential
PV installation professional certification Desirable
Demonstrable experience in a leadership role Essential
